INVITATION TO THE 1ST SPECIALIZED WORKSHOP

Regional development agency of Međimurje County REDEA Ltd. are pleased to invite you to the workshop „Development of agri-food sector through short food supply chains“ which is being held within project AgriShort - Establishing short food supply chains and competitive agricultural sector in the cross-border region through institutional cooperation implemented in the framework of the Interreg V-A Hungary-Croatia Co-operation Program 2014-2020.
First specialized workshop will be held in Technology-information center Međimurje, Bana Josipa Jelačića 22b, 40 000 Čakovec, Multimedia hall (former barracks) on December 5, 2017 starting at 11.30 a.m..
Specialized workshop „Development of agri-food sector through short food supply chains“ includes specific educational activities for various supporting institutional representatives relevant for agri- food sector. Conducting educational activities will ensure institutional capacity building and knowledge transfer regarding the establishment of SFSCs.
There will be three lecture at the workshop regarding the SFSCs. The first presentation will be held by one of the biggest expert on the short food supply chain Mr. Mark Frederiks from Netherland, who started many successful initiative for establishment of different models of SFSCs. The topic of his presentation is „Local2local - insights of a short supply chain“. Local2local started in 2013 as a farmer collective (50) supported by a social ICT entrepreneur. Local2local collaborates with health care institutes, the university Utrecht, student organisations and municipality. The Local2local business concept, marketing mechanics, data, ict platform are developed in a way so they can be implemented in other regions and countries. Mark will give insights of the best practices for a short supply chain in Croatia. Another lecturer, food safety expert, is Mr. Andrija Lesar, Bioinstitut Ltd. Čakovec, who will give a presentation about “Food Safety Requirements” focusing on the legal regulations and standards that manufacturers must satisfy to sell their products on the market. The third lecturer will be Mrs. Nevenka Belak from the Croatian Employment Service. She will hold a presentation of "Self-Employment" during which she will present measures for self-employment on agricultural farms.
